It is a great pleasure to welcome you to The Hathershaw College, part of the Pinnacle Learning Trust. I am proud of my long association with the College and to lead a school in my home town.

This is a good school with a group of very talented teachers and staff who set high standards and expectations for children. We are inclusive and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of everyone within the College. We care about our young people, with our first priority always being to make sure they are happy and safe so that they are able to learn.

Eid Closure

To support our families celebrating Eid al-Fitr, school will be closed to all students on Friday 20th March, reopening as usual on Monday 23rd March for the final week before the Easter break.

We also want to remind all families how important it is for students to attend school every other day this week. In previous years, we have seen a noticeable dip in attendance around Eid, which not only disrupts learning for those students who remain in school but also makes delivering the curriculum more challenging for teachers. Taking extra days off can significantly affect progress and opportunities, especially with end-of-term assessments and GCSE exams approaching. Plus, we have lots of exciting rewards and recognition planned over the last two weeks!

We wish our students, parents, and staff a joyful and meaningful celebration with your loved ones. Eid Mubarak!

Thank you for helping us ensure all students can make the most of their learning while enjoying this special time.
