Author Ali Sparkes to Visit Hathershaw
On May 18th, the author Ali Sparkes has agreed to visit the school. She will be working with our Year 8 students and tell them about her work.
Ali Sparkes is the author of lots of children’s books including the award winning Frozen in Time, and the Monster Makers, Shapeshifter and S.W.I.T.C.H. series. Her debut book The Shapeshifter: Finding the Fox was nominated for the 2007 Bolton Children's Book Award. She has also won two Blue Peter awards: "Book I Couldn't Put Down" and "Book Of The Year", for her book Frozen in Time.
Ali will be talking to our students about her books, inspiration for their own writing and also enthusing them about the joy of reading. This will support the literacy work that we do in school and we hope it will prove a stimulating experience for all involved.
