Careers Day 2023
Thursday 19th October was Careers day at Hathershaw College, and we held our annual careers fair for pupils in Year 10 and 11. Parents and carers also had the chance to attend the fair and discover the options available to their child. This was an opportunity for pupils and parents to start thinking about the next steps after school. It was a chance for pupils to explore the various pathways available to them to kickstart their future careers.
Pupils were extremely pleased with the numerous employers and higher education providers that were present. They made the most of the opportunity and there were lots of important discussions taking place from entry requirements, to uniform, to job perks and assessments routines.
This event is always an important one for pupils in Year 11 as they start to think about higher education and college applications, but it is also valuable for pupils in year 10, encouraging them to start thinking about their future. The careers fair gives pupils access to a range of employers, colleges and apprenticeship providers all in one place, so that they can ask questions and find out more about different career and higher education routes out there. It is a very informative event and motivates pupils to work hard and achieve.
