HRC trip to OSFC Science Centre
On Thursday 26th May, students from the Hearing Resource Centre at Hathershaw enjoyed a visit to the Oldham Sixth Form College Science Centre to take part in an interactive session. They were also joined by two Year 6 pupils who will be joining us at Hathershaw in September.
Students had fun participating in four science experiments. They made their own popcorn using Bunsen burners, made delicious ice cream (in a variety of flavours!), they created ‘a wave in a bottle’ and mastered the art of making Ooblek. Students also marvelled at the demonstrations of explosive experiments, expertly carried out by the staff at OSFC!
It’s wonderful to see students benefitting from opportunities across the Trust. A fantastic morning was had by all; for many, it was their first trip in a long time and a great opportunity to interact with their deaf peers!
