Hathershaw pupils become the NW Boccia Competition

Hathershaw pupils have been getting competitive participating in the North West Boccia competitions this year and are pleased to have become the NW Boccia Champions!

The Boccia started with the Heats, where two teams of Hathershaw pupils represented the school. After having qualified from the Heats, the pupils travelled to Liverpool to compete in the North West competition. They were competing against other pupils from Cheshire, Liverpool, Wirral and Trafford. It was great to see pupils interacting so well with those of other schools. Hathershaw B team won their group stage and qualified to the semi-final. Unfortunately the other team came third in their group and didn't qualify. The final was a close game but the pupils managed to clinch the win with a 4-3 winning score line. The pupils worked together to come from being behind, 4-1 in the last end to win 5-4 against Cheshire schools. It was a very intense game. All pupils had a great day out and received a participation medal, with the winning team coming home with gold medals, a winners certificate and a trophy.

Thanks to James and all his team at Panathlon for a great experience.
