Mock Local Elections 2016

Mock Local Elections 2016

Our candidates for the forthcoming Mock Local Elections 2016 have been chosen, and now the contest can officially begin!  From today, Monday 14th March, our students will hit the campaign trail to be chosen as this years winners. The winners of last years Mock Elections (running alongside the General Election) was the Labour party, who will be hoping to continue this success in the Mock Local Elections 2016.

Candidate applications were opened to our Year 10 students on Monday 7th December 2015, with auditions being held on Friday 11th March 2016 (pictures above), judged by our very own Mr Giles, Vice Principal of The Hathershaw College, and the current Mayor of Oldham, and our Chair of Governors Mr Ateeque Ur-Rehman, alongside his wife.

We will keep you updated at every stage of the campaign, so watch this space as our students get to see Democracy in action.

Good Luck to everyone involved.
