There was lots happening within our sports faculty last term! Our students have been busy taking part in various competitions, developing skills and having fun. Here are just a few of the events that took place last term.

Year 10 Boccia event

A group of year 10 students have been representing Oldham in the regional Boccia championships. On Thursday 26th January pupils were out of school, participating in the competition. They had a great time putting their skills into practice, playing alongside other talented individuals. The pupils came runners up and received silver medals, a trophy and certificates. They will now go on to the Northwest finals in Liverpool!

Year 9 leaders event

In January, a group of year 9 pupils stepped into leadership roles and led two SEND multi-sport events at the Ball Hall in Oldham. The events were for primary and secondary school children. Students took charge and led their own activities, ranging from target shooting to basketball shooting. All leaders undertook a day of training prior to the event. It was a fantastic experience for all, students left the event feeling more confident in themselves. It was wonderful to watch our students display such excellent skills and professionalism.

Year 7 Multi sport event

Pupils in year 7 took part in a multi sports event in January. Students had lots of fun, getting competitive and putting their skills to the test. They demonstrated great teamworking and strategic skills and came in third place.
