Hathershaw College

Student of the Year

Student of the Year

One of our students has won the title of 'Student of the Year' in the under 16 category in this year's Rotary International awards in Oldham.

Pranay Maisuria in Year 11 was awarded the honour, receiving a certificate and trophy along with a state-of-the-art laptop to help him with his studies and a trophy for the school to keep.  As things stand, The Hathershaw College has three names engraved onto this trophy - one from 2011, 2015 and 2016 - more than any other school in Oldham!

The Rotary Student of the year award is presented to students that go that extra mile in supporting their Schools, Community and/or families including charities local and nationally, and this year Hathershaw was fortunate to have eight of our students nominated from all year groups.

All students were given a certificate in recognition of their nomination, and were invited to the Mayoral Parlour to pick up the awards from the Mayor of Oldham himself, Councillor Ateeque Ur-Rehman.

We believe this is something to be celebrated, and want to congratulate all those nominated, and hope that you continue to thrive and excel at our school.
