World Book Day 2017
On Thursday 2nd March it is national World Book Day, and to celebrate we have lots of activities planned.
Our assemblies all week (27th Feb. - 3rd March) have been promoting the occasion, and featured a video (below) with some of our staff and students answering the questions What is your favourite genre?, Who is your favourite author?, What is your favourite book? and the all important question Why do you enjoy reading? - feel free to take a look.

Our library has been running the Design a Book Token competition, where students get the chance to win £200 in book tokens for themselves, £500 in book tokens for their school and £200 book tokens for their teacher, along with Guess the Shelfie - where staff take a picture of their book shelf (a 'shelfie') and students have to guess who it belongs to. Students have also been encouraged to write a book review of their favourite book as well as taking part in various polls on our dedicated World Book Day website.
World Book Day has been running for 20 years now, and helps to promote reading across the nation, especially amongst children, allowing them to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own - with the £1 book token.
