Student Council & Ambassadors
We have a very active school council at Hathershaw. When students join us in Year 7 they are invited to produce a manifesto outlining their aims and the whole school take part in a ballot to decide on who they would like to represent them on the school council. One of our most recent achievements was the design and installation of a Peace Garden. Students in year 10 and 11 can apply to become student ambassadors. Student ambassadors are role models for others, and are available to support students with any issues they may face. Student ambassadors receive mental health and wellbeing training, and safeguarding training as part of their role. In year 11 student ambassadors can apply to become a senior ambassador, a role which is held in the highest regard by both students and staff.
